QuoteI'm going to install it on a virtual PC. I don't want it to mess up theDelpi 7.dll's.I did that, and I found that it complained 3 files were missing, and then ignoring that hoping it would be something that wouldnt matter, you run it and it complains that xmlrtl90.bpl is missing. Removing all references I could find to that file didnt help either. In the end the only work round I found was to copy the xmlrtl70.bpl off a machine and renamed it to xmlrtl90.bpl and tada it started. Doesnt exactly fill me with confidence though. QuoteI didn't see an announcement for it.Neither did I, this said there might be a reason to it.
Indeed, I tried todownload it and I received the e-mail that contains the activation key, butas for the download itself, it stopped at 99%!!! I had to kill thedownloading process!
Then, I tried it again and it recognised that 99% ofthe file had already been installed, but when trying to resume the download,it just didn't want to. At the end of the day, I wasted a couple of hourstrying to download a 267 MB or so file, and this for nothing. Doesnt exactlyfill me with confidence though.Actually, it sounds like the 'start-up' mechanism just needs to check thatfile off of its list. Presumably, if the IDE attempts to actually load itit will blow up.Allen Bauer explained that he has implemented 'on-demand' loading ofpackages in his blog, so that would explain why it didn't blow upimmediately.-d. Doesnt exactly fill me with confidence though.Hmm strange.I installed it. And now it asks for a serial number and authorisation key.But. I got an email with reg632.txt and I have got to put that in myhomedir.Weird.I guess I should place a post in the borland.public.install.delphinewsgroup.Mansour. QuoteMansour Ghaoui writes:But. I got an email with reg632.txt and I have got to put that in myhomedir.Make sure the file is called reg632.txt and not say reg632.txt.txtAlso, make sure your home directory is the one you think! Windows XP and stuff may have made more than 1.
It likes that. For example I havec:documents and settingslizandc:documents and settingsliz.avalon. The right one is the last one!Hmm.Well I have installed it on a virtual PC running Windows 2000 and amlogged in with a local user account. If I open cmd.exe and type echo%homedir% I get:Documents and SettingsSysteembeheer(I'm using the Dutch version of Windows. 'Systeembeheer' is Dutch for'Administrator')I placed the.txt file there as you mentioned. I can see hidden filesand extentions so no reg632.txt.txt;-)But. I still get the Serial Number and Registration Key dialog.Mansour.
